Whillo: September/October Releases

Published 7 months ago • 2 min read

Hello all!

Here are our releases for the months of September and October. The focus for October was to significantly increase the size of our music catalog, so you'll see a lot more new music than audiobooks this go around!

For November our goal is to significantly build our audiobook collection. We are just waiting for the final "dotting of the i's and crossing of the t's" with a large audiobook distributor that we are very excited to have on board (their books have been requested multiple times over the past few months; we can't wait to share details with you all soon!).

Mid-September we added pilot episodes of two Whillo original series:

  1. "Mr. Haydn's Elusive Notebook" is episode 1 in an original series available exclusively on Whillo! In this episode we are introduced to Matthias, Friedrich, and Karl, three young boys who are training to be choristers in the royal Esterhazy court in Austria under the tutelage of Joseph Haydn. This fun episode follows the boys as they complete a scavenger hunt looking for Haydn’s lost notebook, and all of the wonderful music they encounter along the way. Written by Reanne vandenBrink with music and sound design by Daniel Kim.
  2. We've also added the first episode of "Well, Whaddya Know?!", a series written and produced by Craig Roberts. This series aims to inform, entertain, and educate listeners on a variety of random topics. In this episode, the focus is on the Boy Scouts of America, its history, and its significance in shaping young lives. The episode also delves into the evolution of merit badges from 1911 to the present day, highlighting the diverse skills and knowledge areas they encompassed, from agriculture and blacksmithing to modern subjects like digital technology and game design.

We've also added new audiobooks including "Peter of New Amsterdam", "Andrea Carter and the Price of Truth", "Teddy and the Mystery Deer" and others.

We'd love to know your thoughts on "Mr. Haydn's Elusive Notebook" and "Well, Whaddya Know?!" series! Please send us a quick email if you enjoyed them, which one you preferred, or if you'd rather see different content on Whillo. It takes a lot of time, effort, and money to produce original content, so we really do want to know what our listeners prefer!

Audiobooks

Music

For September we've added several albums by Greg Howlett productions as well as the final "Love Divine" album by Ian Mulder.

For October we've added around 20 new albums including music by:
-Hosanna Choir
-Brothers-4-Harmony Quartet
-Martin Mans
-Joseph Nimoh
-Josh Snodgrass
-Kent Dykstra

Here are some of them:

Mid-October we hope to add music by Crown and Covenant (6 Albums of the "Book of Psalms for Singing") as well as several additional albums from their large collection.

We'll also be adding music by Frank Ezinga and the Laudate! choir as well as a beautiful piano album by Mandi Kitchen and an album by Jeff Knibbe.

Please keep the requests coming at https://whillo.com/requests/. They are very helpful in our meetings with publishers; if we can show significant interest for their content from our listeners they are more inclined to work with us. We very much appreciate the many submissions we've already received.

Happy listening!
